Housing
The majority of people prefer to stay in the community they have alway been familiar with; in which older adults want to reside in their current homes/communities for as long as possible and younger people want to live where they grew up.
Age-Friendly Glen Cove aims to improve housing options, increase the number of affordable opportunities, and provide resources for people to remain independent in their homes as long as possible.
Action Plan for Glen Cove:
- Meet with current builders to see if they would be amenable to increasing their percentage of affordable housing within their future housing projects
- Create a resource guide to coordinate services and maintenance support for seniors in need.
- Educate the public to become more compassionate towards homeless people.
